Tessa’s strong technical knowledge coupled with genuine enthusiasm for what is sometimes considered a ‘dry’ area of accounting, means that she is respected and trusted by partners and clients alike. She is recognised for her ability to describe and guide people through complex technical matters, in an approachable and forthcoming way. Tessa provides advice to partners on implementing key aspects of financial reporting and auditing standards, including IFRS. She also facilitates training in these technical areas to partners and staff, and acts as second partner on a number of Kingston Smith’s listed audit clients. She regularly engages, on behalf of the firm, with the Department of Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS) and the Financial Reporting Council (FRC) on matters of audit and accounting policy. Tessa has a keen interest in training and increasing industry knowledge and currently chairs the London Accountants Training Discussion Group. In her free time, Tessa is a voracious reader and enjoys hill walking in Britain’s beautiful mountain regions, particularly Scotland and the Lake District.
